MEET US

Amanda, remembering my Dad (Robert Smith, age 57) who died August 15, 2007 in a farming accident.

Kaitlin, remembering my grandma, who died June 19, 2005.
Lisa, remembering my loving and supportive mother, Nettie Hartman, who died on January 31, 2005 from cancer and my dear friend, Cheryl Holzman, who died on April 14, 2008, also from cancer. I miss them both, each and every day. My world just isn't the same without them.

Stacey, remembering my Daddy (Doug Douglass, age 64) who passed away on May 30, 2007, six weeks after being diagnosed with liver cancer.

Tania, remembering Sue Ann Werner (mom, age 50) who died July 19, 2007 suddenly and very unexpectedly from cardiac arrest.

*SPILL IT: JUST WRITE WHAT YOU FEEL*

For our second challenge, just write what you feel. Seriously. It's liberating. To prove the point and hopefully inspire you, here are the layouts by our wonderful contributors, including a special guest for this challenge, and myself. As before, we'll showcase each of these contributors and her layouts in the days to come. Be sure to check back, as those showcase days will include notes from each contributor and often the journaling for each layout.

First, our special guest contributor for this challenge is Marti:

Marti is celebrating her grandbaby Quincey's five beautiful days on earth. Here's her layout:

Remember to check back over the coming days to see the journaling and story behind this layout!

Jamie:

Jen (who again did layouts for both her aunt and her grandma):

Lisa:

Molly:

Stacey:

Tania (with two layouts this challenge):

Amanda:

We hope you'll participate in this challenge along with us! (This one, in particular, can be so healing!) As extra incentive, we've again been blessed to find a generous sponsor who's offering a fabulous prize to a random winner. Our sponsor this time is Ormolu (a cool etsy store). The giveaway will include: (12) good tags, (9) chronicle tags, (24) assignment tags, and (20) time tags:

Notice the cool "good grief" tag that's included in those "good tags"! (I actually bought some of those just for that tag!) To be eligible for the random drawing, upload your challenge project online and link us up in the comments of this post by midnight on September 10th. No limit on the number of entries or whether they've been posted online previously...just be sure to link us up so we can see and share in your story.

So. Go spill it, okay? And don't forget about our new message board in case you want to talk things through as you create for this challenge (or if you just want to chat or tell me something you think would be cool for this blog).

I am looking forward to participating in this challenge. I always have a hard time with journaling on my layouts but I am going to give it a try.

First, thanks for creating this blog. It is a wonderful thing you are doing.

Second, I took your challenge and finally scrapbooked a question I've always had about my parents' relationship - What Went Wrong?

I've had the idea for this page for a few months. In fact everything was ready to go - papers picked, layout planned, chipboard painted, but I couldn't bring myself to create it b/c I thought I would regret it...

But I accepted your challenge and then the journalling came to me in about 15 minutes. I got home from work today and completed it within a half hour. Thanks for the opportunity to be heard and be healed.

Wow. I'm liking this blog. I'll have to thank Kelli! =)

So mad at the moment! I just 'spilled it' & clicked preview & lost it all! It was so- long & from my heart! I cannot remember all of it. Ugh!

Here's my link: http://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/164877/view/1053187/0/40/1.html

The layout is of my big sister who passed suddenly 3 yrs ago, from a massive heart attack. (I just cannot believe all that I typed just a few mins ago is gone!) =(
The journaling for the layout is underneath in the description.

Just reading this blog, I have so many ideas for layouts w/& w/o photos. Thx for the inspiration & knowing there's a place to do so.

What a great blog and way for all of us creating memory scrapbooks to get together. I was fortunate enough to take Tania's In Loving Memory class and that gave me the kick I needed to get my pages started. I am also going back and doing the first challenge, so I will post that one there also.

Here are the links to my layout for the victim impact statement I read in court at sentencing.

I did another layout tonight. It seemed like a good time to do one since I was thinking about Marcy anyway!

I really like this blog - what a great idea! I have already found some wonderful inspiration here & look forward to creating more pages about my mom. Telling stories about her or my feelings after her passing has always been difficult but I now feel more inspired to get some of it down on paper. Below are links to a couple of pages I've done previously:

I completed this page last year at this time for another challenge blog. I had hoped to have another page done for this challenge, but I don't think it will get done today :)
