"Light 1 Candle" by Lisa
Monday, January 4, 2010 at 4:00AM Here's Lisa:
In the Jewish faith, it is a tradition to light a memorial candle on the anniversary of someone's death. We light one every year for my mom and once the candle burns out (usually 24 hours later), we each say a silent prayer or think of a special memory and then share it.
Journaling: We light one candle, a memorial candle, on January 31st...In memory of Noona...This year we each said a silent prayer (at your request) when the candle burned out.

I think this is such a cool tradition! Makes me all the more sad that my boys don't have any significant memories of my dad, though. :)
I love this tradition ... definitely something I'd like to start, perhaps on the anniversary of her passing. Thank you for sharing!!
Today, January 8, is the 3rd anniversary of my dad's unexpected passing. Thank you for the safe haven to share our grief and to take the steps toward healing. Blessings to you all, the members of Good Grief and the readers, each of us who has our own stories of ones we have loved and lost but remember and love still..........
I do think this is a most incredible website for proclaiming great wonders of Our God!
