* CAPTURE A SINGLE MOMENT *

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!! Every year that one sneaks up on me...I always have the best intentions to do something but, let's face it, the start of May is just a plain ol' busy time. ;) (Personally, I vote for moving National Scrapbooking Day to like the start of February or March, but that may just be me.) Regardless, I actually did manage to do a little something this year for National Scrapbooking Day and I invite you to join me.

Here's the deal. My new friend, Roxane, has a service project called Shared Scraps that she's been doing for about four years now. Recently, she "appeared" on Paperclipping (a scrapbooking web community) to talk about this. You can read more of the details here. Basically, it's all about donating your unused or leftover supplies to help kids in social services to create Life Books. At a local crop I attended a couple weeks ago, a group of us decided to take part and managed to donate 199 pounds of supplies! You can read a bit more about that here. Here, too, are a couple of pictures of us and our donations:

Woohoo! Won't you please consider taking part?

So. Back to our challenge here. This challenge is simply to capture a single moment. I love how open to interpretation this one is. At first glance, it's pretty straight-forward. But. Then you have to decide if you want to record a moment you remember with your loved one...a moment you've experienced since the passing of your loved one...a moment you wish you could have with your loved one. The list goes on.

Here, then, are our interpretations. As always, stories will follow...I'll begin with a special guest contributor...Jennifer (another new friend I met at the crop I mentioned above) graciously shared this layout:

Next up is Lisa:

Marti:

Tania:

Me (Amanda):

Jen:

As usual, we'd love to see what you do with this challenge. Please post your layout online and link us up in the comments of this post. Happy May to you!

Oh Amanda! You're such a sweetheart to make Shared Scraps a part of your blog today. Thank you so very much. I'm thrilled that you called me your new friend as I think the very same of you. I'm so blessed.

Ladies,
You're layouts are so wonderful and inspiring. Each one has touched me, and inspired me to capture my moments. Thank you for sharing this amazing part of your heart.

Here's my layout...this is about my young friend and dogsitter who sadly ended her own life a few weeks ago at the age of 19.
