"180 degrees" by Debbie

And here's our special guest contributor, Debbie (thanks, Debbie, for joining us!):

Life can change so fast without a moments notice.  This layout is in honor of my friend Val.  We have been friends for 33 amazing years. This past January Val's life changed forever which in turn changed my life too.  While Val is not gone, her life as she knew it is forever changed along with everyone who loves her.  In February Val was diagnosed with terminal Stage 4 Breast Cancer.  Instead of thinking about what she would be like today I decided to do a layout of what she is like today and what she faces and I wanted to her know how I felt about her before it's too late.  I made a pocket behind the photo to hold a special note to her.

Here's the hidden journaling: Yesterday...you were strong, bossy, stubborn.  You were my work buddy, my drinking buddy, my golf buddy...my do almost everything together buddy!  We are like sisters. For 33 years you showed me confidence and strength.  You made me laugh, cry, mad and happy.  I know the good and the bad.  We've been through bad marriages, divorces,  deaths of our parents, births of our children and grandchildren.  We have traded places so many times over the years.  Today, you are still my best friend but your life is different from just weeks ago.  Today you battle for your life and more time with the people you love. You no longer work and i miss talking to you everyday.  You are still here but I know you are knocking on Heaven's door.  So today as you battle terminal Breast Cancer and all the ugly side affects the the treatments bring, I want you to know how much I love you and that you will always be in my heart.  We are soul sisters...forever.

Please share your own story about your loved one and what he/she might be like today. Link us up in the comments section of the original challenge post before the next challenge goes up on June 15. Thanks!!

I just learned yesterday that one of my good friends from high school has been diagnosed with breast cancer. I am across the country from her now, but am just in a daze and trying to figure out how best to support her in what she will be going through in the upcoming months. My mother-in-law was diagnosed two years ago and is a survivor. May they find a cure for this disease soon, and bless all those going through treatment!
